TYPOLOGY OF FUNCTIONAL ZONING OF NATIONAL AND NATURAL PARKS

Depending on the primary goal set for a national park, the core of the park is the landscape – either natural untouched by any anthropogenic impact or cultural resulting from a harmonious interaction between man and nature. The core of the park is a natural reserve in the first case and a historical and cultural conservation zone in the second. This accounts for serious distinctions in the planning of national parks. The author suggests a classification of functional zoning of national and natural parks depending on the relationships between their core and the natural framework in which they are created.

Key words: single-core concentric type, single-core linear type, multi-core linear-nodal type, disperse multi-core functional zoning of natural reserves, models of ecological tourism
