The article considers design of customized goods on the basis of product architecture principles. Product architecture is a rapidly evolving strategy of product design responding to the current needs of the market. However, it is given little attention by researchers in Russia. The article reviews research sources devoted to the construction of product architecture in product design terms and identifies elements and principles of scaling required for creating customized products. Note is made of the possibility of applying the principles of product architecture to the creation of product’s stylistic elements.
