THE AMERICAN MODEL OF ECOLOGICAL TOURISM –MINIMIZATION OF ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT AND RELATED PLANNING ASPECTS

The article considers the planning aspects of the American model of ecological tourism and related methods of functional organisation of tourism sites. These methods are based on the predominating roles of the ecological framework, self-organized tourism and special attention to the recreational capacity of the landscapes. Classified examples are provided, illustrating practical use of these methods in setting up specially protected natural territories.

Key words: ecological tourism, viewing points, ecological track, tourist route, ecological equilibrium, recreational pressure
