ISSUES IN MATHEMATIZATION OF ARCHITECTURE IN THE POST-NONCLASSICAL PERIOD


The evolution of civilisation is associated with architecture. Architects embody ideas in images and construct various forms and spatial configurations, description of which by mathematical methods and computer simulations provides the clarity, accuracy and structure that are not always achievable verbally. Mathematics is by right among the major achievements of humankind, and its problems, whether solved or unsolved, have been guiding and stimulating human creativity for many years. Trends in contemporary mathematization of architecture are defined by the productive capabilities provided by information and mathematical modelling technologies.
