Although universal, synergetics is often used in other sciences as a metaphor considering objects superficially, which is likely to lead to erroneous results. A lot of researchers believe it possible to incorporate it harmoniously into various disciplines, including architecture. Synergetics is a contemporary, actively developing area in scientific research. One of its missions is to reveal latent laws of order and chaos, emergence, evolution and death of organisations (systems). It relies on methods which can be equally applicable in various domains enabling it to be treated as an «interdisciplinary language». For substantiating this statement it is necessary to consider laws of synergetics and their applications to architecture and urban planning to be able, in the future, to control homeostasis and fluctuations that may arise in the city fabric (i.e. even the smallest impacts) and to use their potential most effectively.

Key words: laws of synergetics, synergetics in architecture, urban planning
