CITY AND CITIZENS: PUBLIC SPACES AS A MODERATOR OF HUMAN BEHAVIOUR


The article considers issues around the creation and existence of a public space in a modern-day city. Experiences in the design of effectively operating spaces of this kind are reviewed; principles underlying their functionalities and architectural imagery are formulated, and effects on human behaviour, meanings and typology of social processes are identified.
