SEISMICITY AND GEODYNAMICS OF THE MIDDLE URALS


As a result of analysis of available geological, seismological and geophysical materials the seismic conditions in the Middle Urals are estimated as favorable and safe for the majority of engineering objects except for shabby and dilapidated constructions. At the same time, there is an unfavourable factor operating in the top part of an earth's crust in the Middle Urals with regard to engineering geology, which can be called geodynamic. It causes non-seismic micromovements of blocks of the top earth's crust which can cause damages to engineering objects. Zones of elevated geophysical activity are distinguished in the Middle Urals, which are characterized by relatively increased repeatability of unfavourable atmospheric and lithospheric geodynamic phenomena.
