THE RUSSIAN SCHOOL OF DECORATIVE AND APPLIED ARTS AS ONE OF SOURCES OF THE CONTEMPORARY SYSTEM OF DESIGN EDUCATION


The article describes handicraft and craft workshops at St. Petersburg Academy of Art in the 18th century, the training of free-hand drawing masters for industry at the Moscow Stroganov School and at the St. Petersburg Shtiglitz School and other educational institutions in pre-revolution Russia.
